How do you know that you have drafted a research question? Note: Figures and tables, including captions, should be embedded in the text and not in an appendix, unless they are more than pages and are not critical to your argument.
Could redundant data ink be eliminated? The discussion section should be a brief essay in itself, answering the following questions and caveats: What are the major patterns in the observations?
University of North Carolina; Introductions. Looking back at your own research, how many papers have you skipped just because reading the first few sentences they couldn't grab your attention? Is there material that does not contribute to one of the elements listed above?
It establishes the scope, context, and significance of the research being conducted by summarizing current understanding and background information about the topic, stating the purpose of the work in the form of the research problem supported by a hypothesis or a set of questions, explaining briefly the methodological approach used to examine the research problem, highlighting the potential outcomes your study can reveal, and outlining the remaining structure and organization of the paper.
It should cite those who had the idea or ideas first, and should also cite those who have done the most recent and relevant work.
